St Nicholas Abbey (13 April 2007 foaled) is a thoroughbred racehorse trained by Aidan O'Brien. He won Beresford Stakes and Racing Post Trophy in his two year old career, making him Europe's champion two year old. He started a short-priced favourite in the 2,000 Guineas Stakes, but only finished sixth in what would be his only three year old start. Returning as a four year old in 2011, he was surprisingly beaten in the Alleged Stakes, but showed he retained his high class when easily winning the Ormonde Stakes and followed up by winning the Coronation Cup from Midday.
We recently recieved a lovely thank you on for the bottle of St. Nicholas Abbey Rum that we sent to commemorate the wedding of HRH Prince William, The Duke of Cambridge, and HRH Catherine, The Duchess of Cambridge, on 29 April 2011.
St. Nicholas Abbey's 10-year rum was recently reviewed by RnD Rum Reviews at the Caribbean Rum and Beer Festival in Barbados.
'St. Nicholas Abbey shows a beautiful light mahogany color, perhaps not fully representing its 10 years in oak, but certainly indicating that of no color was added. Take your time sniffing St. Nicholas Abbey – after all, creating the perfect rum takes time. St. Nicholas Abbey‘s elegant, deeply layered aromas deliver the best aspects of Bajan rums, and compare favorably with the world’s very best rums, anywhere.'
